This is an area that at its core works with organisations to improve the way they engage with Māori. The Kāuru team and its associates are predominantly Māori who have experienced in some form systemic racism. These experiences provide an effective platform for Kāuru as a community to give advice, allocate time and provide services that embody the logic of inclusion – the logic of including Māori. Kāuru engagement aligns itself with kaupapa that includes quality assurance frameworks, competency frameworks, evaluations and cultural solutions.
This area achieves desired and beneficial outcomes using Māori solutions concerned with helping others cross the threshold of cultural knowledge into Te Ao Mārama. This peka has been grown to make a positive transformation for Māori, with Māori and any other persons, groups and organisations alike interested in supporting the advancement of the Māori culture, the language and its people.
